In taking on the Presidency of MENA-FATF for 2008 Mr Al Awadi has undertaken a mission to motivate cooperation between the GCC , Middle East and North African countries. He chaired with energy and determination UAE’s Central Bank and MENA-FATF plenary meeting 6-9th April in Abu Dhabi to discuss the mutual cooperation and action plan for 2008 to boost cooperation with member countries in the region tackling money laundering and terror funding. Mr Al Awadi is an established and vigorous campaigner raising awareness for international cooperation between the Middle East, North Africa and the US through public – private partnerships.
